The police are yet to arrest the accused students of the polytecnic college in Rupnarayanpur in Asansol who had allegedly gangraped a fellow student in the college student union room after she was drugged and filmed in the nude. The family members of the victim on Saturday complained that they were under tremendous “political pressure’’ for settling the issue mutually. Some of the accused belong to the Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad union.

The accused in the case are still absconding, while the court on Saturday remanded to judicial custody the security guard of the college who was arrested on Friday. The police did not plead for police custody of the guard.

Significantly, the college authorities are also silent over the issue and they did not cooperate with the victim family, claimed Sadhan Dutta, father of the victim.
