Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Kirodi Lal Meena Wednesday claimed an “intelligence report” had falsely stated that he will disrupt the government’s upcoming showpiece Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address, and the PM’s second rally on December 17.
Talking to journalists Wednesday, Meena said, “An intelligence report has been sent that Dr Kirodi Lal wants to disrupt Rising Rajasthan (Investment Summit). It is a very shameful report by the Intelligence (Bureau). Can I do this while being a minister? I am a dedicated party worker and have been in politics for 50 years. Can I do such foolishness?”
The Investment Summit is scheduled between December 9 and 11 in Jaipur, and the PM will inaugurate and address it.
Meena claimed that “the report said that Dr Kirodi will disrupt the summit through farmers or victims of paper leaks, safarikarmis (cleaner), and that he will disrupt the PM’s rally on 17th as well.”
He said that he has worked alongside PM Modi and “whether I remain an MLA or a minister or not, I can’t do such dirty work. My party is my mother, and her son Bhajan Lal is the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. I can’t attack a brother the way Intelligence claims. If I have to fight, it will be from the front and openly, like Maharana Pratap. I don’t stab in the back the way my brother was stabbed in the back in Dausa.” He also claimed that some officials wanted to create a rift between him and the CM.
Meena’s brother Jagmohan Meena had recently lost the Dausa Assembly bypoll, with both of them claiming sabotage by some party workers. Ever since the Lok Sabha election results, Kirodi Meena has been sulking. He had also submitted his resignation as a cabinet minister to the CM.
