The Special Operations Group of Rajasthan Police have arrested the personal security officer of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in connection with the 2021 sub-inspector recruitment exam question paper leak case.
Head Constable Rajkumar Yadav – currently posted as Gehlot’s PSO – and his son Bharat Yadav have been arrested by the SOG, with Yadav being accused of purchasing the question paper for his son.
Additional Director General of Police, ATS and SOG, VK Singh, said that during the investigation of Satyendra Singh Yadav, a probationer sub inspector in the 2021 SI paper leak case who has since been arrested, Rajkumar Yadav was found to have received the examination paper before the examination and also taught the said leaked question-answer set to his son Bharat Yadav and acquaintance Ravindra Saini before the written examination.
Singh said that as a result of Rajkumar Yadav accessing the questions paper, Ravindra Saini and Satyendra Singh Yadav were selected as SIs while his son Bharat Yadav managed to pass the written examination.
ADG Singh said that Rajkumar Yadav and his son Bharat Yadav were formally arrested on August 9 and taken on police remand till August 12. So far, a total of 120 accused, including 54 trainee Sub Inspectors, have been arrested in the case.
Gehlot posted on X: “Through the media, it has come to my knowledge that a Head Constable from Jaipur Police Line, deployed for my security, and his son have been taken into custody by the SOG. If any person is involved in a crime, the law should take its course. I hope that the SOG will investigate this matter without any pressure and reach a logical conclusion.”
Taking potshots at Gehlot, Union Minister and Jodhpur MP Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, “It means it got ‘leaked’ from the very place where there was ‘protection’.”
