A 26-year-old woman died after she allegedly jumped from the 10 th floor of an apartment block on Friday morning. Police said Sakshi Maheshwari,from Kasganj in Hathras,was living in the Vaishali area. Police have recovered a suicide note which said she had taken the extreme step as she was unable to find a well-paying job.
Even after studying,I couldnt find a good job. The last job that I had I was paid very little like a slave. I am depressed because I feel worthless, the note read. In the note,she also apologised to her family members for taking her life.
Police said they were alerted about the incident around 12 pm on Friday. Maheshwari jumped from the 10th floor of Bhagirathi Apartments in Vaishali. We identified her with the help of documents that were found in her bag. We dont know why she came to that apartment building. We are checking if she knew anyone living there or went there with the purpose of committing suicide, a police officer said.
Bhagirathi Apartments is located next to the Vaishali Metro station. Police said people waiting for the Metro spotted Maheshwari preparing to jump and raised the alarm,but no one could stop her.
