Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi Wednesday said the civic body will take action against all unauthorised parking stands in the city.
Issuing a detailed list of all 403 authorised parking lots in the 12 MCD zones, she said: “Any parking (lot) other than these will be considered as an unauthorised spot.”
Calling illegal parking a sore tooth for both the public and municipality, she added, “The entire city of Delhi is grappling with the problem of parking… It has become so severe that it is causing traffic congestion and inconvenience to the public… Furthermore, these unauthorised parking spots don’t pay any taxes to the MCD.”
The Mayor appealed to people to report illegal parking stands to the MCD on Illegalparkingcomplaintcell@gmail.com.
