Uttam Nagar murder: Cops head to Mumbai

According to police,the prime suspect,Innocent Nuaio who has been missing for the past 15 days,had come to the Capital via Mumbai.

A day after the decomposed body of a young girl was found in a black rucksack in a rented house in Uttam Nagar,the Delhi Police has formed a special team to be sent to Mumbai for investigations.

According to police,the prime suspect,Innocent Nuaio who has been missing for the past 15 days,had come to the Capital via Mumbai. “The passport of Nuaio shows that he had reached Delhi on October 31,2010,via Mumbai. We are hopeful to find some vital clues there,” said V Renganathan,DCP (West).

Police have formed two search teams,one for Delhi and another for Mumbai. Lookout circulars,too,have been issued,Renganathan added.

“We have also sought the help of Nigerian High Commission Coordinator,Prince. Other Nigerian nationals living in the locality have also been contacted and photographs have been circulated,” he said.

The victim’s identity,meanwhile,is yet to be established.

Police said the body has not been sent for postmortem till now as they will wait for 72 hours.

Nuaio’s neighbours,meanwhile,claimed a fair,long-haired girl used to visit him often. “I had seen a girl coming in after midnight. She was beautiful and about 5’5” in height,” said Kusum,a neighbour.

The owner of the house,Gurudev Singh Khalsa said Nuaio had approached him alone on February 4 this year for renting the first floor of his house. “He told me his name is Mark and that he used to export Indian clothes to Nigeria. He used to pay Rs 4,500 as rent for the first floor,” said Khalsa.

According to Khalsa,another Nigerian,Michael,who stayed on the third floor of the house,has also been missing for a fortnight. He said Michael had been living in the flat for the last eight months and used to pay Rs 4,000 as rent.
