The Latest: Four held for killing man in South Delhi

NEW DELHI: A day after meeting President Pranab Mukherjee,the Delhi University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) on Saturday decided to launch a relay hunger-strike outside the Vice-Chancellor’s office from October 10. At a general body meeting,it was decided that the association would consider holding joint action programmes with the Delhi University College Karamchari Union and Delhi University Students’ Union if the “authorities fail to look into our demands”.

Astrologer held for raping help: Police

NEW DELHI: Police on Friday arrested a 43-year-old astrologer from South Delhi’s Neb Sarai area for allegedly raping his domestic help. The man was arrested following a complaint by the woman. “The woman live in a rented accommodation in Devli along with her husband. She used to work as a domestic help at the astrologer’s house. Two days ago,he allegedly raped her,” DCP (South) Chhaya Sharma said.

JNU gets an alumni association,finally

NEW DELHI: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) announced its first official alumni association,which in turn elected its first office-bearers. It will be called Alumni Association of JNU (AAJ) with approximately 500 registered members. The association will hold its first meeting on September 26.

Wife alleges dowry torture against man

GURGAON: Police have lodged an FIR against a company executive for allegedly harassing and torturing his wife for dowry. Police said the man,who is from Amritsar,has fled after his wife complained against him.
