Delhi Police constable among five arrested for kidnapping

Dahiya said, “When his son and his friend did not return home, he tried calling them, but their phones were switched off. Around 3.30 pm, one of Aman’s friends informed him that Aman had called to say that some people had taken him and Ganesh hostage and were demanding Rs 1 crore as ransom. They also threatened to kill them if the ransom was not paid.”

After an FIR was lodged, the police laid a trap and arrested Rishi Pal and Kuldeep from Gurgaon, while Deepak, Sunil and Sonu were apprehended from Pataudi Road.

“We had strategically placed a bag of money at a designated spot. When the accused came to collect it, a confrontation ensued, during which Sub-Inspector Sumit Kumar sustained a fracture in his hand,” Dahiya said.

He added, “During interrogation, it was revealed that Sunil is serving as a constable in the Delhi Police… On Wednesday, when Aman was with his friend, the accused blocked their vehicle and kidnapped them. They held them hostage in a rented room in Amar Colony in Gurgaon.”

Commissioner of Police Vikas Kumar Arora has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for the police team.
