Days after arresting four accused in connection with the alleged leak of question papers of the nursing officer recruitment examination conducted by AIIMS, Delhi, earlier this month, the CBI Thursday arrested the alleged mastermind of the case.
The CBI lodged an FIR after the institute received several complaints from the candidates. Officials said a search operation was underway and more accused may be apprehended.
“We have arrested the accused, identified as Navneet, who allegedly played a role and is stated to be the mastermind of the conspiracy. He will be produced tomorrow before the court concerned. Earlier we had arrested four persons — Manjeet Kumar, Monu Malik, Anil Kumar and Paramveer, who is a candidate. They were arrested on June 16 and after police custody, they were sent to judicial custody by the court concerned,” said a CBI spokesperson.
The CBI had also booked Mohali-based Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology and a woman in connection with the leak of the NORCET-4 (Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test) examination paper.
