Police arrest 5 after Gurgaon encounter
Gurgaon: The Delhis Polices Crime Branch arrested five alleged robbers after an encounter at Sector-47 on Friday night. Police said three unlicensed weapons,knives,two fake vehicle registration plates and a Ford Fiesta car were recovered from their possession. Police said the robbers opened fired at the Crime Branch team,and the officers resorted to retaliatory firing. As the accused tried to flee,the officers chased and arrested Mahesh,Amit,Amol Kumar Aniket,and Suryanarayana.
28-year-old crushed by DTC bus
New Delhi: A 28-year-old diploma holder in engineering was crushed by a DTC bus on Saturday. Around 2 pm,Mohammed Shahid,a resident of Jamia Nagar in Southeast Delhi,was crossing the Ring Road near the Sector-12 bus stop in RK Puram when the low-floor DTC bus ran him over.
Neighbours held for mans murder
New Delhi: Less than a week after a 30-year-old man was murdered allegedly by his two neighbours for not inviting them to the wedding of his younger brother,the police nabbed the two accused Manjar Alam (18) and Salman (20).
24-year-old held for raping minor
New Delhi: A 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping and raping a minor girl in the Gandhi Nagar area of East Delhi. Police said Krishna works with a private firm and knew the victim as they live in the same neighbourhood. Medical examination of the girl confirmed rape.
