The AAP Saturday attacked the Delhi Police for lapses in security which led to the ink attack on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. A Delhi court Friday had pulled up the police over the incident and said it did take effective steps to ensure the CM’s protection.

The party also demanded that the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, which controls the police, should make its stand clear on its assessment of the force in the wake of the court’s remarks.

AAP leader Ashutosh said, “It is shameful that following the ink-attack on the CM, the Delhi Police instead of introspecting on its failure, chose to adopt a defiant stand and tried to hide its failure and incompetence. The AAP challenges the Delhi Police Chief, B S Bassi… to now react to the court’s observations about the shameful police role in the incident.”
