36-year-old from Manipur found dead in Moti Bagh house

Rose Gangmei was working as a receptionist with a beauty parlour in West Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh area.

A 36-year-old woman from Manipur was found dead in her South Delhi home on Wednesday morning. Police said the incident was reported by the woman Rose Gangmei’s roommate.

“Rose Gangmei was found dead in her rented accommodation in Mochi Gaon, Moti Bagh. Her roommate Pannam opened the door to her room on Wednesday morning and found Rose sleeping on the floor on a mat, wrapped in a blanket. Rose had her headphones on. Pannam, however, realised that Rose was not breathing. A PCR call was made and a police team reached the house. Her body had no external marks of injury or signs of scuffle. It has been sent for a post-mortem examination. We are investigating the cause of death,” a senior police officer said.

Gangmei was working as a receptionist with a beauty parlour in West Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh area. She had been living in House No. 73 in Mochi Gaon for the past eight months with her roommate Pannam. She was a resident of Tamenglong district of Manipur.

Though police have ruled out foul play, they are waiting for the post-mortem report. An enquiry under section 174 CrPc has been ordered, police said.
