Youths marry sex workers

Five women,who were rescued from flesh trade recently,were married to youth followers of the Dera Sacha Sauda at a ceremony held at the sect headquarters in Sirsa on Monday. A manager,a trader and two clerks were among those who got married. The brides were named as ‘Subh devis’ and grooms ‘warrior devotees’. Each couple was provided Rs 25,000,besides entire household belongings for beginning a new life as a gift from the sect. Over 15 lakh followers were present during the occasion. Dera spokesperson Dr Aditya Insaan said,“Hundreds of sex workers are in touch with us wanting to be rescued.” Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh said,“Everyone deserves to live a life of dignity and joy.” There are 1,355 youths,who have volunteered to marry sex workers. “Nearly 250 families have pledged to adopt these women as sisters and daughters,besides 40 families have pledged to adopt their children,” he said. All the grooms pledged to donate their eyes and organs.
