Seven thefts in shops and residences were reported in 48 hours from different parts of the city. Rakesh Kumar,a resident of village Raipur Kalan complained to the cops that thieves stole 105 mobile phones,six LED TV sets,seven laptops and covers,and seven DVDs from his shop in Industrial Area,Phase 1,on Saturday.
In another case,Rs 3 lakh copper,Rs 10,000 cash,a cheque book and a bill book were stolen from a shop at Burail on the night of November 25/26. Police registered a case on the complaint of the shop owner Surinder Singh.
Two persons were arrested by the police after they were accused of stealing Rs. 43,500 cash from a shop in Sector 26. The police arrested Ashish Kumar and Sipeen Kumar,both natives of Bihar,on the complaint of the shop owner. Vinod Talwar,a resident of Sector 19,reported that his purse containing Rs 20,000 cash and documents were stolen from the Sector 19 market on Saturday.
Another theft was reported by Sector 35D resident Vikram Giri,who complained to the police that thieves stole gold and silver jewellery,two pearl sets,a gas cylinder,a 32-inch LCD TV,a Tata Sky receiver and Rs 65,000 cash from his house on Friday. A similar complaint was lodged by Ramdarbar resident Sumitra,who said that an LCD TV,microwave,and silver jewellery were stolen from her house on Saturday.
Meanwhile,the cops registered a vehicle theft case on Saturday as Sector 20 resident Sandeep Kumar reported that someone had stolen his motorcycle from Leisure Valley,Sector 10.
