The BJP in Haryana is set to mobilise all its state ministers and senior leaders, including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, on Thursday to launch its flagship Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana across all district headquarters in the state. The scheme offers ₹2,100 in monthly financial assistance to eligible women, with on-the-spot registration camps being organised in villages and towns throughout the state.

Chief Minister Saini, accompanied by Cabinet Minister Krishan Bedi and Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, will inaugurate the scheme in Panchkula. Khattar will serve as the chief guest in Karnal, while Energy Minister Anil Vij will lead the launch in Ambala. Lok Sabha MP Naveen Jindal will be the chief guest in Kaithal.

In a recent communication to all deputy commissioners, Haryana Additional Chief Secretary Dr G Anupama emphasised the need for dedicated help desks at each registration camp to assist with application filling, document verification, and grievance redressal.

She wrote, “The Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana is a flagship initiative of the state government aimed at empowering women and promoting gender equity. You are, therefore, requested to make meticulous preparations and ensure that the launch is carried out in a mission mode with maximum visibility, participation, and on-the-spot beneficiary registrations across all levels. All efforts must be made to ensure the grand success of this important event.”

Under the scheme, any woman aged 23 or above and belonging to a family with a verified annual income not exceeding ₹1 lakh — as per the Family Information Database Repository — is eligible. In the case of a woman married into Haryana from another state, either she or her husband must be a resident of Haryana and have lived in the state for at least 15 years at the time of application. There is no cap on the number of eligible women from a single family who can benefit from the scheme.

According to the draft policy, the scheme will be rolled out in four phases. Women falling below the poverty line (BPL) with an annual income of less than Rs 1.8 lakh, who number around 46 lakh, would be covered in the first phase. “The poorest of the poor, whose annual income is below Rs 1 lakh, may be given priority,” an officer said.
