The Chandigarh administration has revised the DC rates for the financial year 2023-24, effective from April 1.
With the present implementation, there has been a hike of five to eight per cent, a lot less than the 13 per cent hike demanded by various unions.
DC rate is the minimum wage rate which an administration is supposed to give to its skilled and unskilled workers.
The official order for the rates revision has been issued and will be applicable to all government offices, boards, corporations, public sector undertakings, and autonomous bodies of Chandigarh administration.
“However, these offices will take their own administrative decision on adoptions of these rates for their employees. The government offices, autonomous bodies of central government, Punjab and Haryana government may take their own decision regarding adoption of these wage rates for their employees,” a statement issued by the administration said.
