Following a row after the Haryana government issued a notification declaring Eid-ul-Fitr a restricted holiday instead of a gazetted holiday this year, the BJP-led government Sunday modified its notification and declared a holiday for those in private offices following gazetted holidays’ list.
The Haryana government has already declared a restricted holiday for the government employees under Schedule-II instead of a gazetted holiday on March 31(Eid-ul-Fitr) as “it is the closing day of the financial year 2024-2025”. A state government notification to this effect was issued by the Haryana government on Wednesday.
