Valuables worth Rs 50L robbed from BTM Layout

A businessman’s house in BTM Layout was burgled on Wednesday night while his wife and daughter slept. The robbers fled with cash, gold and silver worth over Rs 50 lakh from Nagaraj’s house in his absence, Mico Layout police said. The incident came to light Thursday morning when Nagaraj’s wife woke up. The burglars apparently entered the house through the window and escaped with 1.5 kg gold, Rs 1.5 lakh in cash, 2 kg silver and other valuables that had been kept in a cupboard. Police said Nagaraj is a landlord and owns some bars and restaurants in the city.
