Senior geologist found murdered in Bengaluru house

The victim has been identified as Prathima KS, a resident of Doddakallasandra in Subramanyapura police limits. The incident came to light on Sunday morning around 8.30am when the neighbours informed the police about the incident.

A 43-year-old government servant working with the department of Mines and Geology was found murdered at her residence in south Bengaluru on Sunday.

The victim has been identified as Prathima KS, a resident of Doddakallasandra in Subramanyapura police limits. The incident came to light on Sunday morning around 8.30am when the neighbours informed the police about the incident.

Subramanyapura Police found Prathima dead on the floor. “Her throat has been slit and prima facie, no valuables have gone missing from her house. But we need to confirm it. We do not know the motive behind the crime,” a police officer said.

Prathima’s husband was in Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district when the incident took place. A police officer added that an initial probe revealed Prathima was in office till 6pm on Saturday and returned home by 8pm. Her car driver confirmed he had dropped her off. The murder took place between 8pm to 8am on Sunday.

Prathima lived in a double-storied independent house located next to Gokul Apartment. Prathima worked in VV towers and was a senior geologist. Subramanyapura Police registered a murder case and further investigations were on.
