Karnataka II PUC Exam-2 Results: Over 40,000 students improve their total marks in second attempt

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) on Friday announced the II Pre-University Course (PUC) Exam-2 (Class 12) results. A total of 41,719 students improved (42 per cent) their total marks in the second attempt out of the 71,964 students who had registered for the exam.

According to the data shared by the Board, 28,617 students saw a decrease in their total marks, while there was no change in score for 1,628 students. The II PUC Exam-2 was conducted from April 24 to May 8 across 332 centres in the state.

Meanwhile, out of the 1.53 lakh students who were unsuccessful and appeared for Exam-2, 54,168 passed the test, taking the pass percentage to 35.2 per cent. The girls outperformed with a pass percentage of 36.3 per cent, whereas the boys secured 34.3 per cent.

Private candidates, who appeared in II PUC Exam-2, recorded a pass percentage of 31.2 per cent.

Out of the total 1.94 lakh candidates who enrolled for the II PUC Exam-2; 80,499 appeared for Arts, 58,903 appeared for Commerce, and 54,675 appeared for Science subjects.

Over 46,000 students appeared for improvement in Physics, out of which 26,518 students enhanced their scores. In Mathematics, 25,477 of 45,297 students recorded a positive change. The highest number of score improvement was recorded in Chemistry, wherein 31,974 students out of 44,947 improved their scores. Meanwhile, 21,729 students appeared for improvement in English, out of which 6,937 students saw a positive change.

The II PUC Exam-3 is scheduled to be held from June 9 to June 20, 2025. Registration for Exam-3 is open from May 16 to May 26. Notably, there is no exam fee for most students, except those seeking improvement or private candidates. Students who failed exams from 2023 onward can also register for the exams based on their KSEAB result sheet, while those who failed in 2022 or earlier must provide a Marks Card Attestation (MCA) from KSEAB.
