The Padra police Sunday arrested one of their own constables and the victims mother in connection with a rape case.
The arrest was made after the 25-year-old rape victim had lodged an FIR Saturday alleging that the constable was her mothers paramour and he had been raping her in collusion with her mother. Police arrested both the accused and they are expected to be produced before court Monday.
The constable,identified as Suresh Nagin,was posted at Masar Road outpost of Padra police station. According to the victim,her mother was having an affair with the constable and he used to visit her home regularly. Three months ago,the complainant started staying with her mother in Semkuva and Nagin raped her several times,she told police.
A police officer,who is investigating the case said,We arrested them this morning and we will produce them in the court in time as per the procedure.
