Rewari DC, who issued showcause notices over Muslim entry ban in villages, transferred

IAS officer Sushil Sarwan (2012 batch) has been posted as Panchkula DC, replacing Priyanka Soni, according to the order.

The Haryana government Saturday transferred 16 IAS officers, including Rewari’s Deputy Commissioner Mohd Imran Raza who had issued showcause notices to several sarpanches and panchayat members for passing resolutions or writing letters barring the entry of Muslims to their villages following the July 31 communal violence in Nuh.

Raza, who had taken over as Rewari’s DC in April, has been transferred as DC, Jind. Earlier, he had confirmed that several gram panchayats and sarpanches have been issued the showcause notices under Section 51 of the Haryana Gram Panchayati Raj Act, which pertains to suspension and removal of a sarpanch or panch.

“We have taken the administrative action against the gram panchayats, their sarpanches etc and issued showcause notices to them. They [gram panchayats and sarpanches] shall send their replies, which will be examined. Further action shall be taken after examining the replies that they submit,” he had told The Indian Express.

The state government termed as “routine” the bureaucratic reshuffle in which 28 Haryana Civil Services (HCS) officers have also been transferred. The transfer orders were issued by Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal. Of the 16 IAS officers who have been shifted, seven are DCs.

IAS officer Sushil Sarwan (2012 batch) has been posted as Panchkula DC, replacing Priyanka Soni, according to the order. Sarwan will also hold the charge of chief administrator, Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board, Panchkula.

Manoj Kumar, also of 2012 batch, will be the DC of Yamunanagar in place of Rahul Hooda who has been posted as DC, Rewari. Mandeep Kaur (2013 batch) will be DC, Charkhi Dadri while Manoj Kumar, a 2014 batch IAS officer, has been posted as DC, Sonipat. Prashant Panwar (2015 batch) has been posted as DC, Fatehabad.

Senior IAS officer Sanjay Joon (2003 batch) has been posted as managing director, Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills and director general, Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Haryana.

A Mona Sreenivas (2206 batch) has been posted as commissioner, Faridabad municipal corporation (MC), while Ripudaman Singh Dhillon is the director of elementary education and special secretary to the government, Haryana School Education.

Mona will continue to hold the charge of Additional Resident Commissioner, Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi while Dhillon will continue to hold the charge of Secretary, Haryana State Commission for Scheduled Castes.
Ashok Kumar Garg (2009 batch) has been posted as commissioner MC, Manesar, while Jitender Kumar (2010 batch) will be commissioner, MC, Rohtak.

Mahavir Kaushik (2011 batch) has been posted as special secretary, government, Haryana Urban Local Bodies while Priyanka Soni has been given the charge of director, medical education and research and special secretary to medical education and research department.

Preeti (2015 batch) has been posted as Administrator, Haryana Shahri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) and Additional Director, Urban Estate, Rohtak. A 2017 batch IAS officer Sahil Gupta has been posted as Additional DC-cum-District Citizen Resources Information Officer, Palwal and District Municipal Commissioner, Palwal.

The HCS officers who were transferred included Veena Hooda, Varsha Khangwal, Virender Singh Sehrawat, Satbir Singh and Anurag Dhalia.
