Spice has launched India’s first smartphone running on the FireFox operating system at a price of Rs 2,299, which is cheaper than the cheapest Android smartphone available in the market currently. Called the Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1, the smartphone houses a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touch screen along with a 2 MP rear camera and 1.3 MP front camera. Powered by a 1 GHz processor, the phone has dual-SIM functionality with 2.5 G connectivity.The device is aimed at the masses that are looking forward to use a cheap smartphone to make calls, messages, email, and stay connected on social media.

Lava has launched an upgraded version of its Iris Pro 30 smartphone, which was launched earlier this year in January. Called the Iris Pro 30+, the smartphone comes with a 4.7 inch HD IPS display with 1280×720 pixels resolution at 312 ppi. Ironically, the upgraded model runs an older Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box. The dual-SIM Lava Iris Pro 30+ runs on 1.5 GHz quad-core Mediatek 6589 turbo processor and is powered by 1 GB RAM along with PowerVR SGX544 GPU clocked at 357 MHz. It comes with 16 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32 GB.

Zenfone competitor

Panasonic India has added another smartphone called the Eluga A to its Eluga smartphone series. The new smartphone sports a 5-inch IPS FWGA display at a resolution of 854×480 pixels. Based on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, the device runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system and houses a Qualcomm Adreno GPU with 1 GB of RAM. The smartphone has an 8 MP auto-focus rear camera and also has support for leading Indian languages that allows the user to browse the web, chat and navigate the phone menu in his or her local language.
