India At UN, Pledges Unwavering Support for Afghans & Warns Against Terror Exploitation

At the UN Security Council briefing on Afghanistan, India’s Permanent Representative, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, called for unified global action to prevent terrorist groups like ISIL, Al-Qaeda, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Jaish-e-Mohammed from exploiting Afghan territory. He reaffirmed India’s long-standing civilizational ties with Afghanistan, stressing peace, stability, and development as paramount. Harish highlighted India’s extensive humanitarian aid, including earthquake relief, wheat, medicines, and scholarships for Afghan students. He urged fresh, compassionate global approaches, beyond punitive measures, to address Afghanistan’s dire humanitarian crisis while reaffirming India’s unwavering developmental commitment.
