The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Cindy Rodriguez Singh, who is accused of killing her six-year-old son, Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez and fleeing to India to evade prosecution, the agency’s director Kash Patel said Thursday.

Singh was arrested in India by the FBI, in coordination with Indian authorities and INTERPOL, according to Fox News, which quoted officials. She has been brought back to the US and will be turned over to Texas authorities, it added.

Announcing her arrest, FBI director Kash Patel, in a post on X, said, “Singh is wanted on state charges of killing her six-year-old son. She will face charges of Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution and Capital Murder of a person under 10 years of age.”

Cindy was on the agency’s ’10 Most Wanted Fugitive’ list, with a $250,000 reward for information leading to her arrest.

In March of 2023, authorities in Everman, Texas, conducted a welfare search for Singh’s child after he had not been seen since October 2022. Singh allegedly lied about his whereabouts, indicating that the child was in Mexico with his biological father and had been there since November 2022.

The 40-year-old accused, who has alleged ties to India and Mexico, boarded a flight to India two days after authorities initiated an investigation into the death of the child. She took the flight with her husband Arshdeep Singh and six juvenile children on March 22, 2023.

The then missing child was not present with them and never boarded the flight, according to the reports. Her son, Noel, had numerous health and developmental issues, including a severe developmental disorder, social disorder, bone density issues, and chronic lung disease.
