In an incident reported from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Seattle, a Japan Airlines plane that was on its way for taxiing collided with a parked Delta Airlines’ tail on Wednesday morning, Associated Press reported.
The Seattle airport authorities said that they acted upon the incident at about 10:17am, and all the passengers of the Japan Airlines flight 68 and Delta Airlines flight 1921 were deboarded with no reported injuries for crew or passengers.
The airport authorities further informed that the response personnel were working to move the plane off the taxiway.
In a statement to AP, Delta Airlines spokesperson Samantha Moore Facteau said that its aircraft Boeing 737 was waiting for the ice to be removed from its exterior in a process known as deicing when its tail was hit by another aircraft.

The airport in a post on X stated, “All passengers from morning incident involving Japan Airlines flight 68 & Delta Air Lines flight 1921 have been deplaned with no reported injuries. Airlines are working to accommodate passengers as needed. Airport response crews will be moving the aircraft off of the ramp taxiway.”
The Delta Airlines flight 1921 was heading to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico from Seattle with 142 passengers onboard, the spokesperson added. The airport authorities said that the operations at the airport remained normal as the incident took place at the taxiway.

One of the Delta Airlines passengers, Jason Chan, told AP that as and when the aircraft was hit, the plane “jiggled back and forth and shook a little bit when the collision occurred.”
Chan added that thereafter Captain announced that the tail of the plane was hit and they were deboarded and bused back to terminal.
