Wedding day is considered one of the most important days in one’s life. At least, that’s what romantic movies would have us believe. While a conventional wedding scene involves a groom eagerly awaiting his bride’s grand entrance, a man has left social media in stitches after he was seen glued to his mobile phone, checking his trading graph.

Trading, which refers to buying and selling stocks, bonds, commodities, or currencies over a short period to earn profits, has seen a rising trend among youth in recent times. A video shared by the Instagram account @tradingleo.in showed a groom dressed in an impeccable sherwani, seemingly more invested in his trading dashboard than his own nuptial ceremony. Shot from behind, the clip zooms in on the groom’s phone screen, capturing him tracking stock market fluctuations.

“The Traders,” the caption read.

With 11 million views, the video incited a range of hilarious reactions. A user wrote, “Brother shaadi ka kharcha nikal raha hai (Brother is paying out the marriage expenses).” Another user commented, “Thats how he afforded the marriage and wedding.”

“Only traders can understand the intensity of the market!” a third user said. “Don’t lose the trade. Or marriage cancelled,” another user commented.

Last year, a video of a newlywed couple walking down the aisle made headlines as the groom was seen glued to his mobile phone during the entire wedding procession while holding the bride’s hand.
