This 54-year-old woman’s recreation of Aditi Rao Hydari’s ‘Gajagamini walk’ from Heeramandi has made Netflix respond

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has been hogging headlines ever since it was released on Netflix. Among several videos that went viral from the show on courtesans, Aditi Rao Hydari’s ‘Gajagamini walk’ broke the Internet. Recently, a 54-year-old woman recreated the iconic walk and the Internet cannot stop gushing over.

Neeru Saini, a content creator, immaculately performed the ‘Gajgamini walk’ on the song Saiyaan Hatto Jao from the popular series. Dressed in a vibrant lehenga and a white choli, Saini tries to catch Hydari’s expressions in the song. Sharing the video, she wrote, “Tum bade wo ho.”

The viral video garnered over 3 million views and also a response from Netflix India. Reacting to it, the OTT platform wrote, “OBSESSED. Neeru, tum bade WOW ho .” Another user commented, “You absolutely KILLED the Gajagamini walk!!!!! I love to see how multifaceted You are keep rocking and don’t listen to the negative comments at all, they’re too wrapped up in their biases to recognise talent.”

“Its absolutely amazing! if you got it, flaunt it! Its not all about right or wrong when creating art, the effort you put into details can be seen maam keep rocking !” the third user said.

Starring Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal, Heeramandi: The Diamond Baazar released on May 1.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Monday confirmed the second part of the show. According to Variety, Heeramandi 2 will trace the lives of courtesans after the India and Pakistan partition and their moving to Bombay and Calcutta to make careers in acting and singing.
