Voting in the US presidential elections have started and not just Americans, but the entire world is waiting with bated breath to see who after all, will become the 45th President of USA. The two candidates — Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton — have seemed to make more noise than news, and have been the Internet’s favourite children (more Trump than Clinton), all thanks to their meme-worthy statements and actions.

The Internet has keenly observed their movements, so much so that even Trump’s sniffle and Clinton’s cough did not go unnoticed. Not only that, they became sources for a fresh batch of memes themselves. The impending US elections have been called “the most divisive elections” by The Guardian, and rightly so, as the many memes making the rounds of the Internet will emphasise. It seems that the presidential candidates have provided enough fodder for troll factories in social media and if not anyone else, the Internet must be truly grateful to them. Social media has played an important role this election season, as they documented the notable events, spats, debates, name-calling and what not, between the two candidates in a hilarious way.
