Amazon has slashed the price for its annual pocket-friendly membership plan – Prime Lite by Rs 200, which was introduced earlier this year for Rs 999. The slightly toned-down version offers free delivery on items purchased from Amazon and can now be purchased for Rs 799.

Amazon also seems to have changed some benefits, with Prime Lite members now eligible for free same-day and one-day deliveries compared to the earlier two-day delivery. Lite members who want deliveries to be made in the morning can pay an additional fee of Rs 175 per order. You also get early access to Amazon’s ‘Lightning Deals’ and ‘Deals of the Day’.

While the pocket-friendly plan does let you watch content on Prime Video, the resolution is locked to HD with ads on one device. Earlier, users could log in to Prime Video on two devices.

Moreover, you will miss out on services like Amazon Music and Prime Gaming, but the e-commerce giant now offers up to 5 per cent cashback on select purchases. The company also seems to have retained benefits like no-cost EMI on select smartphones and Prime Advantage, which offers free screen replacement for up to 6 months of at no additional cost.

While the standard Prime membership offers monthly, three-month, and annual plans, Prime Lite has an annual plan. Considering the differences between Amazon’s Prime and Prime Lite membership, if you are someone who doesn’t mind watching videos in HD and missing out on other services like Amazon Music, the Prime Lite membership is a good deal.
