The JD(U) has nominated former Union minister Sharad Yadav from Bihar for the Rajya Sabha polls. He was defeated by RJD chief and Union Railway Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav in Madhepura.
Laloo decided to give up Madhepura and retain Chapra where he defeated another NDA minister, Rajiv Pratap Rudy. Yesterday, the JD(U) analysed the political scenario and decided that instead of going through the rigmarole of contesting from Madhepura again, Sharad Yadav should be sent to the Rajya Sabha.
