Union Home Ministry is examining the issue relating to issuance of an arrest warrant against Coal Minister Sibu Soren for his alleged involvement in a 30-year-old murder case, sources said today. Various legal options, including bail for Soren, are being considered, the sources added.
A report from Ranchi quoting a senior police official said that the arrest warrant issued last night by the court in Jamtara against the JMM leader in connection with Chirrudih massacre in 1975 would be delivered tomorrow.
Meanwhile the BJP has asked the Prime Minister to take a stand on the issue. ‘‘What has been ordered by the court must be executed,’’ party chief M. Venkaiah Naidu said.
