CALCUTTA, APRIL 20: Calcutta High Court on Thursday ordered issuing of notices to the Union of India, International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after admitting a public interest petition with regard to the match-fixing controversy.

The order was issued following a petition filed by social activist Subhas Dutta, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry into the betting and match-fixing in international cricket matches in the country.

The petitioner made allegations against the three respondents for their malafide and illegal conduct by indulging in or by not taking any action against the betting and match-fixing.

After preliminary hearing, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Asoke Kumar Mathur and Justice Altamas Kabir directed to issue notices to the respondents.

The petition also prayed for not allowing any cricket tournament to be entitled after any product or any commercial house. The matter will come up for hearing after two weeks.
