Salem, March 23: Three persons, allegedly involved in manufacture of country guns, were arrested and four single barrel guns recovered at Vepanatham village in Salem district last evening, police said today.
Besides the guns, some quantity of gun powder and other items used in the manufacture of the guns were also recovered from a banana grove during a raid conducted by the `Q’ branch police on a tip-off, deputy superintendent of police Jayachandran said.

The three, who were arrested under various sections of the Indian Arms Act and the Wildlife Act, had been remanded to judicial custody by a local magistrate.
