Kingdom teaser: “A fierce war that will never end, where blood flows like relentless waves. Attacks will keep happening; bodies will keep turning into dust. Who is this destruction, rebellion for?! But from this bloody battlefield, a great emperor will rise,” declares the voiceover setting the stage for a grand, bloody, terrifying, no-holds-barred showdown. The official teaser of director Gowtam Tinnanuri’s Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda, is here, promising a cinematic experience.
While a good portion of the 115-second promo video is brilliantly utilised to lay the groundwork — offering glimpses of the devastation, suffering and endless war with bodies piling up in pools of blood — it also highlights the oppressed people’s attempts to resist, though many of their efforts are in vain. However, with the arrival of the undisputed king (Vijay), a shift begins and a long-awaited glimmer of hope emerges. “I will do anything, sir. If needed, I will burn everything,” he proclaims while in police custody, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to his people. Actors Jr NTR, Ranbir Kapoor and Suriya have provided voiceovers as narrators for the Telugu, Hindi and Tamil versions of the teaser.
Penned and helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri — best known for Malli Raava (2017) and Jersey (the 2019 Telugu film and its 2022 Hindi remake) — Kingdom is jointly bankrolled by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune 4 Cinemas. The film features music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Jomon T John and Girish Gangadharan, editing by Navin Nooli and production design by Avinash Kolla. Kingdom is set to hit the screens on May 30, 2025.
This marks Vijay Deverakonda’s first lead role since The Family Star (2024), in which he starred alongside Mrunal Thakur. Directed by Parasuram, the film had bombed at the box office. Vijay was last seen in a cameo appearance in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD (2024).
