Kalki 2898 AD prelude titled Bujji and Bhairava; to start streaming from this date

With just one month remaining until its global release, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD are going the extra mile to keep the excitement for this epic science fiction actioner at its peak. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the Nag Ashwin directorial features a star-studded cast comprising Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani, among others.

Ahead of Kalki’s global premiere on June 27, 2024, the film’s makers have unveiled the teaser of its prelude, which will soon be available on a major OTT platform. Titled B and B: Bujji and Bhairava, the animated prelude to the highly anticipated film is a two-part series featuring Prabhas’ character Bhairava and his futuristic vehicle Bujji. It will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from May 31.

Following Bujji’s grand unveiling at a recent event in Hyderabad, the upcoming limited series aims to expand the universe of Kalki 2898 AD and provide fans with an exciting glimpse into the dynamic duo’s adventures.

A few days ago, production house Vyjayanthi Movies, which is bankrolling the mammoth project, unveiled a minute-long teaser giving a glimpse of the banter between Prabhas and his sarcastic, AI-powered car on the battlefield.

Initially announced under the working title Project K, director Ashwin had made some interesting revelations about the epic science-fiction film earlier this year, promising that Kalki 2898 AD will be an extraordinary visual spectacle.

“Our film starts in Mahabharata and it ends in 2898. That’s the title of the film, it’s called Kalki 2898 AD. It spans 6,000 years of distance and time. So trying to create worlds that are there here, imagining what it could be like, still keeping it Indian and not make it look like a Blade Runner,” he said while addressing the Synapse 2024 event in Gurgaon.
