The much-awaited season of Kaun Banega Crorepati is here with Amitabh Bachchan back as the host. The 15th installment of the game show will focus on the evolution of technology and how it has changed our lives. With the promise of a ‘new beginning’, KBC 15 will capture the essence of the progress that India is making, bringing forth some remarkable changes that will make the gameplay tougher and far more engaging.
Talking about the ‘badlav (changes)’ in this season, makers are set to introduce ‘Super Sandook’, a new twist in the game. Apart from adding thrill with its fast-paced rules, it would also provide a much-required respite allowing contestants to revive what they have lost. Another new element would be the ‘Desh Ka Sawal’, which will pave way for more audience participation as they would get a chance to pick a question in the game.

While ‘Video Call a Friend’ and ‘Audience Poll’ are back, a new lifeline ‘Double Dip’ has been added to the format instead of ’50-50′. Ditching the best of three questions, the high-on-adrenaline ‘Fastest Finger First’ will also make a comeback. The set of KBC 15 has also been given a sleeker look to add to the overall vibe.
Host of the show Amitabh Bachchan, in a statement said that Kaun Banega Crorepati has become an integral part of his life. “In its 15th season, we will be ushering in a new beginning – representing an evolving India, its aspirations, and its citizens who dream big. This show has become an integral part of my life, it’s a platform for me to connect with audiences – both inside the studio as well as those watching the show from the comfort of their homes. I am really looking forward to welcoming and interacting with contestants from different walks of life who are such a huge inspiration not only to me but also to those who want to be the change and fulfil their ambitions with the power of knowledge.”
Neeraj Vyas, Business Head – Sony Entertainment Television, on his part, added that the show, apart from entertaining, also gives audiences an avenue to learn. “Mirroring the modern new India – we have added new elements to the 15th season that will make the gameplay more intriguing. The thrill of answering new questions brings families together, promoting cohesive family viewing and we believe that the 15th season will continue to enthrall audiences, young and old,” he added.
