The conversations that Amitabh Bachchan has with contestants on Kaun Banega Crorepati could make for a book in itself. The superstar doesn’t shy away from sharing personal anecdotes to having some fun banter with them. On Wednesday, the host opened up about his meeting with iconic filmmaker Satyajit Ray, leaving fans excited.
As the KBC 15 contestant was asked a question about the Oscar-winning filmmaker, Big B started recalled his meeting with him. He shared that Ray called him to his room, which he described as ‘adbhut’ (incredible). He also shared that there were posters and books lying around everywhere but the director knew exactly where everything was.
“Satyajit Ray was a trained graphic artist and he used to design his own title card for his film. I met him personally at his house and he called me into his room. Sir, it was an adbhut room in which posters, papers, and books were lying around here all across. You might wonder where have you arrived. But let me tell you if he had to find anything, he would do it immediately, as he knew exactly where everything was placed. In that room, he would also paint a lot of drawings and posters. Even if you see his films in frames then every frame is like a portrait,” he said in Hindi.
At the beginning of the episode, Amitabh Bachchan also thanked his fans for their love over the years. Most in the studio audience in the last episode were seen dressed as his iconic avatar. As the actor entered the floor, he looked overwhelmed seeing them. He then went on to show his gratitude and also shared how he’s ‘alive’ only because of the love he gets from fans.
The thespian shared, “I witness miracles every day on this set. As soon as I enter the set and come to the seat, I see their happy faces. I hear their applauds and can sense their happiness and excitement. Believe me, every clap adds another breath to my life. I am alive because of them. The relationship that we share along with this show is so special. And not just the set audience but also people watching the show via TV. I can always feel your presence and there’s not a single moment that you haven’t been with me.”
