Vidaamuyarchi movie release date: After a gap of over two years, Tamil star Ajith Kumar is set to make a grand comeback to the big screens with Vidaamuyarchi and his fans are gearing up to celebrate the occasion in style. Helmed by Magizh Thirumeni — renowned for films like Kalaga Thalaivan (2022), Thadam (2019) and Meaghamann (2014) — the action thriller boasts an ensemble cast featuring Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra and Arav in key roles.

Ever since the movie’s trailer dropped a fortnight ago, fans have been on cloud nine, as it promised an enthralling cinematic experience with high-octane action, nail-biting and edge-of-the-seat moments, and a stylish blend of drama. Bankrolled by Subaskaran under the banner of Lyca Productions, Vidaamuyarchi features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while Om Prakash ISC, NB Srikanth, Milan and Supreme Sundar have handled the film’s cinematography, editing, art direction and stunts, respectively.

Vidaamuyarchi Movie Release Date

Originally slated for a January 2025 release during the Pongal season, Vidaamuyarchi was postponed due to “unavoidable circumstances.” Announcing the delay on New Year’s Day, Lyca Productions assured fans on social media: “Due to unavoidable circumstances, the release of Vidaamuyarchi is postponed from Pongal! Kindly stay tuned for further updates! The wait will be worth it!” The trailer later confirmed that the film, carrying the tagline “Perseverance triumphs,” will hit the screens on February 6 (Thursday).

Vidaamuyarchi Movie Budget tickets price

As per Koimoi, the film has been mounted on a reported budget of over Rs 200 crore, with Ajith Kumar’s remuneration falling between Rs 110-120 crore. Notably, Vidaamuyarchi also marks his first collaboration with actor Arjun Sarja in 14 years, following their blockbuster Mankatha (2011), directed by Venkat Prabhu, where the two stars played anti-heroes. It is also his first project since Thunivu (2023) and his recent Padma Bhushan honour.

The film has already raked in Rs 8.74 crore in advance bookings, selling 4,74,600 tickets for 5,722 shows across India, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. As of 1 pm on Wednesday, Tamil Nadu accounts for the bulk of Vidaamuyarchi’s pre-release business, contributing Rs 7.45 crore, followed by Karnataka with Rs 88.4 lakh.
