Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya tied the knot with popular Carnatic singer and Bharatanatyam dancer Sivasri Skandaprasad on Thursday. The wedding took place in Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, and was attended by the who’s who of the BJP, including leaders Annamalai, Amit Malaviya, and Union Minister V Somanna.
Sharing photos from the wedding, Tejasvi wrote, “With the blessings of Gurus, elders, and well wishers, married Sivasri today as per vedic traditions. We seek your blessings and wishes as we start this journey together!”
In the photos, we see Sivasri in a traditional red-maroon Kanjivaram silk saree in one of the events, and a yellow silk saree in another. Meanwhile, Tejasvi picked a white-and-gold outfit and a traditional off-white dress for the events.
Known for her artistic abilities, Sivasri Skandaprasad became quite popular for her singing and dancing, especially during the pandemic. She is also an engineer, but was known more for her artistic inclinations, and was heralded for her talents. In fact, with a strong social media presence, she even won the approval of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who shared one of her singing videos, and wrote, “This rendition by Sivasri Skandaprasad in Kannada beautifully highlights the spirit of devotion to Prabhu Shri Ram. Such efforts go a long way in preserving our rich cultural heritage. #ShriRamBhajan.”

In response, Sivasri had written, “Dear Modi ji, Thank you so much. This is really big for a humble artiste like me. Thank you for encouraging us to constantly strive towards serving Bharat and continue our spiritual journey.”
Apart from being accomplished youngsters in their respective fields, Tejasvi Surya and Sivasri Skandaprasad are also very much into physical fitness as they completed the arduous Iron Man challenge in 2024.
