The thrilling India vs Pakistan Asia Cup final on Sunday night had fans around the world on the edge of their seats. Among those waiting with bated breath for India to win the match was Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. After India’s victory, Big B took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the win and also trolled Pakistan following their defeat. India beat Pakistan by five wickets in the Asia Cup final.
Amitabh wrote, “T 5516(i) – जीत गये !! 🇮🇳🇮🇳 .. well played ‘Abhishek Bachchan’ .. उधर ज़बान लड़खड़ाई, और इधर, बिना batting bowling fielding किए, लड़खड़ा दिया दुश्मन को !! बोलती बंद !! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 जय हिन्द ! जय भारत ! जय माँ दुर्गा !!!! (We won! well played ‘Abhishek Bachchan’ .. Over there the tongue stumbled, and here, without batting bowling fielding, you made the enemy stumble!!)”
In his tweet, Big B took a dig at Pakistan’s former speedster Shoaib Akhtar, who, during a sports show ahead of the final, accidentally referred to the cricketer Abhishek Sharma as Big B’s son and actor Abhishek Bachchan. He had said, “If Pakistan manage to get Abhishek Bachchan out in a hypothetical situation, what happens to India’s middle order?”
Shoaib’s slip was caught by fans, and his video went viral. Abhishek Bachchan also took the chance to tease the former cricketer and wrote, “Sir, with all due respect… don’t think they’ll even manage that! And I’m not even good at playing cricket.”
While Big B celebrated India’s victory in his own unique style, other Bollywood celebrities also took to social media to celebrate the win. Siddharth Malhotra wrote,, “What a match tonight! India showed grit, fire & heart. Unbeaten champions! You make us all proud 🇮🇳 #indvspak2025 #AsiaCupFinal.”
Preity congratulated the team India and wrote, “Wow !!! What a game. CONGRATULATIONS to Team India 🇮🇳 for winning the Asia Cup ! Thank you Tilak, Shivam & Kuldeep for this thrilling victory ❤️ Ting ! #indvspak2025.”
