Ranveer Singh has dropped a new video–and his clothes–for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani. The actor shared a clip from his upcoming romantic comedy on Monday, which featured a glimpse of the world of his character Rocky Randhawa. The film, directed by Karan Johar, marks Ranveer’s first screen collaboration with the filmmaker.
The one-minute clip–reminding many of Kareena Kapoor’s introduction from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham as Poo–begins with Ranveer Singh waking up in his trunks and follows his morning routine– of working out. Accompanied by the catchy Punjabi track Munde Desi by NaseeB, the camera lingers on Ranveer’s body, as he lifts weight with a neon sign in the background ‘No pain no gain’.
He finally stands in front of multiple mirrors and admires his body as his full face is revealed and the words ‘Monday Motivashiun’ flash on screen. Ranveer took to Twitter and shared the video, writing, “Monday Aa 💪🏾#MondayMotivashiun from Rocky Randhawa #RRKPK”
Filmmaker Karan Johar also shared the clip on his Instagram page and wrote, “Rocky woke up and chose to SLAY!🔥”. A user commented on Karan’s post, “Should’ve made him say “how dare you! tumhe koi haq nahi banta ki tum itna khoobsoorat dikho. NOT fair”. It would’ve been so meta lmao.”
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani is scheduled to release on July 28. It marks Karan Johar’s return to feature film direction, seven years after the Diwali release Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
