Ranveer Singh wants to cast Ranbir Kapoor in a love triangle film with Deepika Padukone and himself, chooses RK as ‘Dola Re Dola’ dance partner

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were a ball of love as they appeared on the premiere episode of Koffee with Karan Season 8. The couple opened up about their love story and their struggles for the first time, and also shared some footage from their lavish wedding from back in 2018. But as soon as it was time for the ‘Rapid Fire’ segment, Ranveer and Deepika fought tooth and nail for the hamper, and the audience saw a surprise winner. When Karan asked Ranveer whom he would like to cast in a love triangle with him and Deepika, the actor named Ranbir Kapoor, without missing a beat.

Ranveer asked Karan about his idea of remaking Sangam that he had previously pitched to the three actors. Ranveer asked, “You wanted to make Sangam with the three of us. What happened?” To this, Karan said, “I can make Sangam any time.” When Karan asked Deepika if she was on for the film, she said, “Done.” Ranbir was once again mentioned during the ‘Rapid Fire’ segment when Karan asked Ranveer which contemporary male actor he would choose to recreate ‘Dola Re Dola’ from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, and Ranveer chose Ranbir once again.

Deepika and Ranbir were in a relationship for a few years when they started their journey in Bollywood. The two had a bitter break-up, and at that time, Deepika suggested that Ranbir had cheated on her. She had made the suggestion in her appearance on Koffee with Karan in 2010. Deepika and Ranbir went on to work together in films such as Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Tamasha after their breakup. Ranbir Kapoor is now married to actor Alia Bhatt, with whom he has a baby girl named Raha Kapoor. After her breakup with Ranbir, Deepika started dating Ranveer Singh in 2012. The couple got secretly engaged in 2015 and were married in 2018.

When Ranveer was asked who shares the best chemistry with Deepika, he named Shah Rukh Khan. Deepika and Shah Rukh recently worked together in the blockbusters Jawan and Pathaan. Deepika named Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and the late Irrfan Khan as the actors she shared the best chemistry with. In a surprise turn of events, Deepika turned out to be the winner of the ‘Rapid Fire’ as she got 73% of the votes from the in-studio audience.

This was Ranveer and Deepika’s first joint appearance on Karan Johar’s show.
