Devara box office collection day 6: Jr NTR’s action epic, his first solo hero release since Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava in 2018, performed exceptionally well on Wednesday, which was a national holiday on account of Gandhi Jayanti. Devara Part 1 charged through the mid-week holiday and recorded an excellent jump, with a boost in collections across all languages. The film also stars Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor in their Telugu debuts.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Devara Part 1 minted a solid Rs 20.5 cr nett on its first Wednesday, recording a 40 percent jump in collections from Tuesday. The original Telugu version packed the biggest punch as it recorded a gross of Rs 13 cr, while Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil versions also grossed over Rs 4 cr.

The film’s Hindi collections also witnessed a jump, as collections grew by 50 percent, with over Rs 6 cr. The boost has helped the film regain its footing after a big dip on Monday, which had signaled doubts about its lifetime box office prospects.

With Wednesday’s performance, Devara Part 1’s domestic total stands at Rs 207 cr nett, while its worldwide gross is estimated to be around Rs 370 cr. The film should close its week one around Rs 220 cr mark, depending on how strongly it holds on Thursday. Irrespective, the holiday spike has ensured that the film will see more jumps in collections as it enters its second weekend.

The film will be in a comfortable position even this week, with no major releases in key markets, Telugu and Hindi. Superstar Rajinikanth’s Tamil actioner Vettaiyan, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, will hit the big screens next week, while Alia Bhatt-led Jigra and the comedy film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, will arrive on October 11.

Till these three films hit the screens, Devara Part 1 will hope to keep up the momentum and aim to cross Rs 350 cr-all India nett.
