Chunky Panday confesses he once took $50,000 from shopkeeper to get Salman Khan to his store: ‘Told Bhai I will give you free jeans’

There is no story that Chunky Panday narrates that isn’t funny and the actor has shared a hilarious anecdote involving superstar Salman Khan. In an old interview, Chunky Panday revealed the time he bribed Salman to take him to a store in South Africa after he had a backdoor understanding with the shopkeeper.

In an interview with Lehren, Chunky Panday said he was doing a show in South Africa with the superstar, where he took him to a particular store and promised to get him “free jeans.” Chunky said, “I told Salman, let’s go shopping, I will give you free jeans. So, we went shopping at a mall and then gave him free jeans and shoes.

“And then he got to know that I had taken $50,000 from a shopkeeper to bring Salman there. The shopkeeper did pay $50,000, but he paid $50,000 to sponsorship of the show. He was the sponsor, and the deal was to get Salman to the store!”

News18 also quoted Akshay Kumar narrating the same story on Kapil Sharma’s show while promoting Housefull 4. Calling Chunky Panday a “smart businessman,” Akshay said, “Once Salman Khan was doing a show with Chunky in South Africa. After the show was conducted smoothly, Chunky told Salman that he was quite happy. Chunky, who was also the organiser of the show, gave an offer that he would take him shopping. ‘I’ll buy your shirts, pants, and jeans!'”

Chunky Panday was last seen in the 2023 comedy series Pop Kaun? He was also part of the Karan Johar backed Liger, starring his actor daughter Ananya Panday and Telugu star Vijay Devarakonda.

On the work front, Salman Khan will be next seen in the Eid 2025 actioner Sikandar, backed by Sajid Nadiadwala. The producer is also set to bankroll the next installment of the comedy franchise Housefull, which features Chunky Panday.
