Ameesha Patel says Anil Sharma changed Gadar 2’s climax without her knowledge: ‘Sakeena was supposed to kill the villain…’

Gadar 2 became a massive success at the box office despite opening to negative reviews. The film featured Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel reprising their roles as Tara Singh and Sakeena, respectively. Utkarsh Sharma, who played the young Jeete in the 2001 film, starred as the grown-up child in the 2023 film. During the film promotions and even after the release, Ameesha Patel gave several statements that hinted at her tiff with the film’s director Anil Sharma. Now, the actress has made another revelation regarding the filmmaker and Gadar 2’s climax.

Recently, one of Ameesha Patel’s fans shared a YouTube link on X that claimed Anil Sharma had planned film’s initial climax with Ameesha Patel killing the villain, but he made last minute changes to highlight his son Utkarsh Sharma. The fan tagged Ameesha Patel, and wrote, “We want to know if this is true”.

Ameesha was quick to respond to her fan and confirmed the news. She wrote, “Yes, Sakeena was told that she would be killing the villain by the director but the climax shoot happened minus my knowledge.” She added, “Let bygones be bygones, Anil Ji is family and he is aware of this and I am sure he too feels bad now. Gadar 2 already created history. Time to move ahead.”

Previously, speaking to Hindustan Times, the actress revealed, “Even on the sets of Gadar, there were schedules that went on for 30-40 days for most of which I would not be talking to him [Anil Sharma] and he would not know how to convey something to me [directly]. It would only be conveyed through assistant directors. We’ve had our creative differences and that track record has carried on. We fight, we patch up.” The actress had also claimed to ghost-directing the film along with Sunny Deol.

However, she maintained that they are fine. “Anil Sharma and I are fine. If tomorrow he offers me any film, why only Gadar 3, I will be open to working with him.” Gadar 2, made on a budget of about Rs 80 crore, went on to earn over Rs 690 crore globally. The makers are also planning to make Gadar 3.
