A total of 7,55,324 regular candidates appeared in the HS exam. Purba Medinipur is the best-performing district with 95.77 per cent.

This year 42.9 per cent of students got over 60 per cent or above marks while 1.23 per cent got over 90 per cent marks. Fifty-eight students secured the first ten ranks. Twenty-three among them are girls.

Soumyadip Saha of Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya in South 24 Parganas got the second rank (495 marks) while Abhishek Gupta of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidyamandir of Malda secured third position with 494 marks. Two girls secured the fourth rank.

The pass percentage this year is 90 per cent. Science stream has performed the best, with 97.19 per cent students passing, followed by commerce and humanities at 96.08 per cent and 88.2 per cent students passing respectively.

The WB Class 12 result website also cautions the students. "Neither NIC nor Board/Council/Institution/University is responsible for any inadvertent error that may have crept in the results being published on NET. The results published on net are for immediate information to the examinees," a statement on the wbresuls.nic.in says.

It further added: "These cannot be treated as original mark sheets. Respective Board/Council/Institution/University has provided the data and intimated for publication."

The WB HS result link is active at wbresults.nic.in. To access the West Bengal Class 12 result, students will have to use their roll and number.

Apart from the wbchse.wb.gov.in website, the wbresults.nic.in and education.indianexpress.com is also hosting the Class 12 HS result. The WBCHSE mobile app will also make the WB HS result link active.

According to data shared by the council, there were 91,838 more girl students than boy students who had appeared in the exams. The ratio of male to female candidates stood at 44:56.

The scorecard link will be activated at 3 pm at wbchse.wb.gov.in or at wbresults.nic.in. The West Bengal Class 12 result will also be available at education.indianexpress.com. They need to keep their roll card/ registration number handy.

As many as seven students have bagged the fifth position, each scoring 492 marks. While the sixth position is shared by eight students, each obtaining a score of 491 marks, five students have scored 490 marks (98 per cent), ranking seventh. 

The eighth position is bagged by six students, each scoring 489 marks (97.8 per cent) and eleven students are in rank nine, all scoring 488 marks (97.6%). The tenth position is shared by a total of 16 students. The tenth rank holders have scored 487 marks or 97.4 per cent.

In the WB Uchcha Madhyamik results 2024, among the 58 toppers, 35 are male students and 23 are female students.

Of the total 5,95,292 students appearing in the WB HS exams in humanities, 88.2 per cent students pass.

As many as 38,439 students appeared for the WB HS exams in commerce. The overall pass percentage in commerce stream stood at 96.08 per cent.

In the WB HS 2024 science stream, a total of 1,05,810 students appeared for the examinations. The pass percentage in the science stream is 97.19 per cent.

As many as 58 students are placed in the top 10. These students are from 15 districts. As many as 13 students are from Hooghly alone, followed by nine from Bankura, seven from Dakshin 24 Pargana and five from Kolkata.

The pass percentage among the minority students in WB HS result 2024 is 86.97 per cent.

Of the total appearing students, as many as 6,79,784 students pass. 90 per cent students pass.

The hardcopies of the mark sheets and pass certificates will be available from 55 distribution centres including the four regional offices of the Council from May 10. The result tatkal service will be made available from May 10 to 13 for those students who want a revaluation of their results.

The WB Class 12 result marksheets and pass certificates will have QR codes. AFter scanning the codes, student details will be made available.

Subharangshu Sardar has topped the WB Uchcha Madhyamik exam lasy year with 496 marks out of 500 which is 99.20 per cent

Shushma Khan and Abu Sama have been placed in the second rank with 495 marks or 99%

Chandrabindu Maity, Anusua Saha, Piyali Das and Shreya Mallik have got the third position with 494 marks which is 98.80 per cent

In 2023, the pass percentage was recorded at 89.25 per cent. The pass percentage recorded among boy students was 91.86 per cent, while the same for girl students was 87.26 per cent.

A total of 8,52,444 students had enrolled for the Uchha Madhyamik exam out of which total 8,24,891 students appeared in the exam. Out of this, a total of 7,37,807 students cleared the class 12 exam.

As many as 11 districts registered over 90 per cent pass percentage last year. East Medinipur district topped the list by recording 95.75 per cent students passing from the district alone.

A total of 52,878 WBCHSE students (6.66 per cent of total qualified students) scored 80 per cent and above marks last year in WB HS result. As many as 2,73,580 students, which is 38.65 per cent of the total successful students scored 60 per cent and above marks in the West Bengal HS exams last year.

WB HS exam last year was topped by Subharangshu Sardar. After the announcement of WB Uccha Madhyamik result last year, the topper said: "I thank all my teachers and my parents for this. The strict discipline at RKM Narendrapur had a lot to do with my results. My message to every student will be to study for four-five hours minimum, daily," he said.
Sardar, who loves to read and was the lead singer of the school band, said he would pursue Economics in higher studies.

Last year, Class 12 WBCHSE recorded an overall passing percentage of 89.25 per cent. A total of 7,27,807 students had passed. A year before that, a total of 88.44 per cent candidates (6,36,875 students) cleared the Class 12 exams, out of which 90.19 per cent were boys and 86.58 per cent were female students.

This year, the council conducted the HS exam between February 16 to February 29. The board exam for Class 12 was conducted at over 2,675 examination centers in the state.

WBCHSE has made changes in the Higher Secondary curriculum. The changes in the WB Class 12 curriculum will be made effective from this year and will be applicable for only those students who will register from the 2024-25 session. The marks structure of health and physical education, music and visual arts have been revised.

The theory component of health and family education has been increased from 40 to 70. The practical component will now have 30 percent weightage. For music and visual arts, the theory and practical marks will be 50 marks each.

Students who score between 100 to 90 will be given distinction in WB HS result 2024, A grade will be awarded to those who get marks between 89 to 70 marks. First Division to students will be awarded to those students who score between 69 and 60 marks.

Second Division to those who get 59 to 50 and third division to those who get 49 to 34 marks, and the students who score 35 and below will be in the improvement category.
