Over 300 startups pitch investors at UDYAMOTSAV 2025; Education Ministry, AICTE lead initiative

In an event celebrating National Startup Day on January 16, UDYAMOTSAV 2025 Investor Network, led by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), brought together over 300 startups and 90 investors in Delhi-NCR’s Amity University.

The event is part of National Startup Week, spanning 14 cities across India including Ahmedabad, Delhi-NCR, Jaipur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Srinagar, Coimbatore, Nagpur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Trivandrum, and Guwahati. UDYAMOTSAV 2025 seeks to provide a platform for student entrepreneurs to secure funding, mentorship, and scale their ventures. Amity University is the only University from Delhi NCR which has been selected to host UDYAMOTSAV 2025.

Professor TG Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, emphasised India’s position as the third-largest startup hub globally, with over 1,50,000 startups. He lauded the event as a key step in fostering collaboration between startups and investors, encouraging youth to embrace entrepreneurship.

Startups presented ideas ranging from counterfeit detection apps to smart devices for Alzheimer’s patients and sustainable fashion products. Key criteria such as market fit, scalability, and financials were used to evaluate pitches, with follow-up processes set to facilitate real funding deals.

Highlighting AICTE’s focus on innovation, professor Sitharam announced initiatives like Institutional Innovation Councils (IICs) and Regional IIC Meets, while Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice Chairman, AICTE, introduced 50 Faculty Development Programs to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Aseem Chauhan, additional president RBEF and Chancellor, Amity University Haryana, expressed pride in hosting UDYAMOTSAV 2025 on National Startup Day. He highlighted the critical role of young innovators in realizing the vision of a developed India, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“We at Amity are deeply committed to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. Through our Amity Innovation Incubators, operating at 14 locations across India and five international centers, including Dubai and Singapore, we provide startups with resources to fast-track their growth. We congratulate all participating startups and look forward to seeing many Unicorns emerge from AICTE-supported initiatives, contributing to nation-building,” he said.
