A FRESH First Information Report (FIR) was filed against the realtor father of the accused minor driver in the Porsche crash case, on charges of cheating and criminal breach of trust of 72 flat owners of a residential project in Bavdhan. This is the sixth FIR filed against the 50-year-old father since the May 19 crash, including the three related to the accident.

The latest FIR was registered at Hinjewadi police station under Pimpri Chinchwad jurisdiction on Sunday based on a complaint filed by one of the 72 flat owners in the residential project in Bavdhan constructed by the real estate company of the minor’s family. The police have booked five persons including the father, his two relatives and two more linked to the business in addition to other possible unidentified suspects. The residential project was completed in 2007.

The FIR states that the company had agreed to provide some amenities to the residents parking and open space. In contravention of the terms, the company developed a total of three residential projects by altering the maps of the project, resulting in cheating and criminal breach of the trust of the 72 original residents.

Earlier, a fifth case was registered against the father and grandfather of the juvenile at Kondhwa police station last week. As per the FIR, the minor’s father and grandfather, who is also a prominent realtor in Pune, had promised Rs 1.5 crore to the complainant if he settled a dispute over their land in Kondhwa in 2019. The duo allegedly gave Rs 18 lakh in advance to the complainant, but after he solved the dispute and got them possession of the Kondhwa land, they allegedly refused to give him the remaining amount of Rs 1.32 crore.

In the fourth offence, the minor’s father and grandfather were booked for their alleged role in a case of abetment of suicide involving a businessman’s son in Wadgaon Sheri on January 9 this year. An FIR in the case was registered based on a complaint by the businessman — who runs a construction firm in Pune — regarding his son’s suicide at the Chandan Nagar police station on January 12. The names of the father and grandfather of the minor were added by the police on June 6.

The three other offences against the father are related to the accident. The juvenile’s father and grandfather stand accused in an abduction case involving the driver, who accompanied the minor at the time of the accident and had been forced to take the blame for the fatal accident. The father of the minor is also an accused in a case registered under the Juvenile Justice Act, in which the managers and owners of the bars where he was served alcohol before the accident also stand accused.

The minor’s father , mother three Sassoon Hospital staffers and two alleged middlemen are all accused in a case of blood samples being swapped.
