Labourer knocked down by school bus in Sus, dies

Police said Kamble left his house on Saturday morning for work. Later, a school bus, which was getting out of the parking space in front of the Teerth Avila society in Sus, knocked down Kamble, around 9 am.

A 42-year-old man was killed in Sus in Mulshi taluka of Pune district on Saturday morning after a bus ran him over.
Police said they have arrested the school bus driver identified as Navnath Ramesh Rajguru (35).

Police have identified the deceased as Ganesh Kamble (42), resident of Sus area. His wife Komal Kamble (40), who works as a domestic help, lodged an FIR at the Bavdhan police station of the Pimpri Chinchwad police.

Police said Kamble left his house on Saturday morning for work. Later, a school bus, which was getting out of the parking space in front of the Teerth Avila society in Sus, knocked down Kamble, around 9 am.

After receiving information about the incident, a police team reached the spot for investigation. Kamble was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Kamble was residing with his family at a rented house in Sus.

Police booked the accused school driver under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 281 (offence of rash and negligent driving), 106 (causing death by negligence), 125(b) (Act endangering personal safety of others).

Police sub inspector Shital Giri of Bavdhan police station, who is the investigation officer of this case, said the deceased Kamble was a labourer.

“The accused works as a driver on a private bus that takes children to school. The bus does not belong to any school. There were no students on the bus when the mishap took place. Further probe is on,” Giri said.
